April, 1995 through Current: Owner/Broker-Miller Industrial Properties, LLC. Industrial / Commercial real estate. Specializing in leasing and sales for warehouse/distribution users. Representing landlords of industrial land, industrial properties and numerous Build to Suit projects. Tom has brokered hundreds of industrial transactions in the Truckee Meadows with lists of satisfied clients.
April 1993 through April 1995: Broker/Salesman with GC Broker. Same activity as with Miller Industrial Properties. Was with GC Broker during the two year NRS requirement for affiliation with a Broker, prior to owning an independent brokerage.
June 1983 through February 1993: Krump Construction. New Business Development., Manager. Promoted to Head of Development, responsible for all projects for profitability and timely completion. Promoted to Manager in charge of new business development. Responsible to maintain the firm’s growth, market share and profitability projections. Site evaluation, financing, project pro-forma projections and feasibility studies, oversaw the governmental approval process at the state and local level. Performed the value engineering of the project design. Oversaw the designing of the project. Monitored the project progress.
June 1980 through June 1983: President, T.M. Miller Construction, Inc. General Contractor, Developer with an unlimited license in General Building and General Engineering. Operated a very profitable small firm with annual sales of approximately $10,000,000. Primarily a public works commercial contractor securing most of its work through the competitive bidding process. With a staff of approximately 25, Tom directly handled most of the daily operations.
June 1978 through June 1980: CHS, Inc. (now known as Clark and Sullivan) Managed development of build to suit commercial projects.
June 1977 through June 1978: Coleman, Myers, Williams. Managed development of Housing Tracts totaling well over 1000 homes.
June 1969 through June 1977: Turner Construction Company. Hired out of college. Worked in numerous positions on numerous major high rise office building projects. Last position held was Superintendent on an 11 story office tower and 4 story attached parking structure. Responsible for all field operations, costs and schedules.
1970: Active duty in the U.S. Army in 1970. Received honorable discharge in 1976.
Forty-five years Real Estate Development experience in positions as President/Owner, Manager/Business Development, Contract Negotiator Manager, Estimator, Project Manager and Superintendent for international, regional and local general contracting firms. Projects include: Airline Terminals, Apartment and Condominium Projects, Banks, Grocery Stores, Government Buildings, High Rise Offices, Highway Construction – CalTrans, Hotels, Manufacturing Facilities, Military Buildings, Medical Offices, Mining Facilities, Parking Structures, Public Works Projects, Restaurants, Retail Stores, Schools and College Buildings, Shopping Centers, Single Family Residential Subdivisions and Warehouse/Distribution Facilities.

Tom is incredibly active within the community and is affiliated with many organizations throughout Northern Nevada, including, the American Society of Professional Estimators – Past Chapter President; Certified Estimator, Sparks Chamber of Commerce – Past Chairman, Industrial Development Committee, Reno Chamber of Commerce, EDAWN, NNDA, Leadership Reno Alumni Association, YMCA of Sierra Nevada – Board Member, University of Nevada – Booster, Junior Achievement Program, United Way of Northern Nevada, CCIM – Northern Nevada Chapter, NAIOP – Northern Nevada Chapter, Member of the Nevada Museum of Art. Tom’s hobbies include a wide variety of things such as Motorsports. Tom is the driver / owner of an ISMA Factory built Porsche race car team. Tom won a National Championship in road racing in 2005, repeating in 2006. He also enjoys skiing and holds a Professional Ski Instructors of America certification and taught skiing at Tahoe Resorts for ten years. He also enjoys mountain and road biking, martial arts, roller blading, collecting and driving ‘60’s classic cars, painting and photography.
